As well as giving weekly improvisation concerts, Maria Scharwiess has performed in many places in Germany, Poland (Svinemünde) and Norway (Langesund, Brevik, Grimstad and Steinkjer). She specialises in combining counterpoint with jazz, Gospel and folk idioms, particularly using Norwegian folk music traditions. Her radio and TV broadcasts in Germany have included Deutschlandfunk, SFB, and RIAS Berlin. CD recordings include organ jazz (Jazz auf der Pfeifenorgel), Berlin Concert (together with the Norwegian artists Henning Sommerro and John-Pål Inderberg), 90th Psalm, Contrapunctus 8-stimmig and others. The parallel fugues from The Art of Fugue are almost all completed and two of them are already archived in Bach-Archiv Leipzig. Reviews
