Vladimir Mischouk Vladimir Mischouk, born in 1968 in St.Petersburg, Russia, combines a busy worldwide concert and recording schedule with posts as Professor of Piano at the St.Petersburg Conservatory, Head of the international piano foundation S.O.P.R.A. (Japan, Tokyo) and Chairman of the jury of the S.Prokofiev International Piano Competition. In October 2002 Vladimir Mischouk was awarded by the decree of Russian Federation's President the honorary title of "Honoured artist of Russia".

He has performed in concert halls such as St.Petersburg Philharmonia Grand and Small Halls, St.Petersburg Academic Capella Hall, Moscow Conservatory Grand and Small Halls, main Philharmonic halls of Russia and CIS (Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tcheliabinsk, Surgut, Tver, Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Kazan, Kiev, Minsk, Tbilisi, Erevan, etc.) Suntory Hall and Metropolitan Hall, Kazals Hall, Orchard Hall (Tokyo), Koncert Gebouw (Amsterdam), Schauspielhaus (Berlin), Musik Halle (Hamburg), Muenchener Philharmoniker, Frauenkirshe (Dresden), Liederhalle (Stuttgart), ZDF Grand Hall, Alte Oper (Frankfurt-am-Main), Hall "Gavo" Opera National de Paris, Shatele (Paris), Opera Bastille (Paris), Palais Garnier (Paris), Colisseo Theatre (Buenos Aires), Teatro alla Scala (Milan), Polish National Philharmonia, Theatre Manuel (Malta), etc., and in festivals such as "Shlezvig Holstein", "Kessinger Sommer", "Dreiklang" (Germany), "La Chaize-Dieu", Music Festival in Tour, "Il de France" (France), International music Festival Kuhmo (Finland) and International Borjomy festival (Georgia), as well as numerous international festivals in Russia.

Mischouk has performed as guest solist with orchestras around the world, such as The Philharmonia of Japan (Conductor: K.Kobayachi), the Russian National Orchestra (Conductor: M.Pletnev), State Symphony of Russia (Conductor: Eugene Svetlanov), Mariinsky Opera Orchestra (Conductor V.Gergiev), St.Petersburg Philharmonia Academic Symphony orchestra, St.Petersburg State Capella Symphony orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre orchestra, Muenchner Philharmoniker, Polish Chamber (Conductor: W.Rajski), Opera National de Paris, Moscow Philharmonia Symphony Orchestra, Musourgsky Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra (Conductor: A. Anikhanov), Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra (Conductor: A.Katz), St.-Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra (Conductor: A.Tchernoushenko), the Polish National chamber orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic orchestra, Tokyo City Symphony Orchestra, Grand Opera Orchestra, Orchestra de Colone, Arturo Toskanini Symphony Orchestra, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Georgian National Chamber Orchestra, as well as with chamber ensembles such as Shostakovich String Quartet, St.Petersburg String Quartet and the Trio St.Petersburg.

He has performed together with solists such as violinists Liana Issakadze (National artist of the USSR), Vadim Repin, Anton Barakhovsky and Dmitriy Berlinsky; cellists Ivan Monighetti, Dmitriy Yablonsky, Peter Mezhvinsky and Henry Demarquette; mezzo-sopranos Linda Finnie and Marianna Tarasova, soprano Olga Kondina, and baritone Vasiliy Gerello; and with conductors Nikolay Alexeyev, Andrey Anikhanov, Nikolay Diadura, Vakhtang Dgordania, Alexandr Dmitriev, Yosas Domarkas, Samuell Friedemann, Valeriy Gergiyev, Arnold Kats, Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, Akira Naitoh, Alen Paris, Mikhail Pletnev, Àlexander Polyanichko, Woiceh Rajski, Oleg Soldatov, Evgeny Svetlanov, Vladislav Tchernoushenko, Alexander Tchernoushenko, etc.

Vladimir Mischouk studied at the St.Petersburg Conservatory under Prof. V.Kunde and Prof. T.Kravchenko, at the Sibelius Academy in Finland and the Madrid Musical Academy under Prof. D.Bashkirov, and at International Piano Foundation, Cadenabbia, Italy (under W.G.Nabore, Director; with L.Fleischer, K.Schnabel, R.Tureck, D.Bashkirov, Fou Ts'ong, A.Weissenberg, and D.Fischer-Diskau).

Prizes include:

  • 1989 - 1st prize at All-Russian Piano Competition,
  • Prize of All-Russian Musical society for best performance of Russian music
  • 1990 - 3rd prize at the "Bosendorfer Empire" (Belgium)
  • 2nd prize and Silver medal at IX International competition named after P.I.Tchaikovsky and special Rosina Levina award for best performance of Tchaikovsky music
  • 1989 1st Prize, All-Russian Piano Competition; Russian Musical Society Award for the best performance of Russian music
  • 1990 3rd Prize, Boesendorfer Empire Contest (Belgium)
  • 2nd Prize and Silver Medal, 9th Tchaikovsky International Competition. Special Rosina Lhevinne Award for performance of Tchaikovsky’s music

He regularly gives master classes in the International Summer School "New Names" and at the Japan National Conservatory (Tokyo), is Artistic Director of the International Arts Festival "Just Friends", St.Petersburg, Artistic Director of the musical program of the International Arts Festival "Master Class" and in 2003 was Member of Jury of the International "Vandome Prize" competition.

His concert in Ekaterinbourg in 1997 was attended by Mrs. Naina Eltzina and Mrs.Hillary Clinton, and he is featured on the most popular TV and Radio programmes in Russia, Europe, Japan, etc.
