Organ, Composer
Didier MATRY has been Titular Organist of the church of Saint-Augustin, Paris since 1997, and is Professor of organ at the School of Music of the Carrières-sur-Seine in Yvelines and Professor of Musical Formation at the CNR in Boulogne-Billancourt. Since 1986 he has also been Organist of the Saint-Louis Chapel of the Military Mcademy, President of the Syndicat National Professionnel des Artistes Musiciens des Cultes and member of the musical consultative commission of the ministry of defence.
D. Matry began organ studies with R. TAMBYEFF. He studied composition at the Ecole Normal of Music of Paris with J CASTEREDE and organ with S. CHAISEMARTIN. At the C.N.R. in Paris he obtained the Gold Medal in organ (studying under O PIERRE) and at the C.N.R. in Boulogne-Billancourt obtained 1st prize and SACEM prize in composition, as well as the certificates in instrumental and electroacoustic composition. He is finalist of the composition competitions of the Friends of The Organ and Henri Dutilleux.
D. Matry has written more than forty works for various instrumental combinations, some of which have been published by Billaudot (in the Panorama collection), Europart-Music and Armianes.
He has given many concerts in France, Germany, Austria, Great Britain (St Paul's Cathedral London, Coventry, Chester, Newcastle), Switzerland, Monaco Cathedral and in the United States.
His recent concerts include Bourron-Marlotte, Fontenay-under-Wood, and Cathedral of Saint-Denis on October 27, 2002.
Didier MATRY est titulaire des orgues de l’église Saint-Augustin à Paris depuis 1997, professeur d'orgue à l'Ecole de Musique de Carrières-sur-Seine dans les Yvelines et professeur de Formation Musicale au CNR de Boulogne-Billancourt. Il est aussi organiste de la chapelle Saint-Louis de l'Ecole Militaire depuis 1986, président du Syndicat National Professionnel des Artistes Musiciens des Cultes et membre de la commission consultative musicale du Ministère de la Défense
D. Matry a commencé l'étude de l'orgue avec R. TAMBYEFF. A l’Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, il suit la classe de composition de J. CASTEREDE et d'orgue avec S. CHAISEMARTIN. Il obtient au C.N.R. de Paris la Médaille d’Or en orgue avec O. PIERRE et au C.N.R. de Boulogne-Billancourt les 1er prix d’écriture et prix SACEM, ainsi que les certificats de composition instrumentale et électroacoustique. Il est finaliste des concours de composition des Amis de l’Orgue et Henri Dutilleux.
D. Matry a écrit plus de quarante œuvres pour différentes formations instrumentales, dont certaines publiées aux éditions Billaudot (Coll. Panorama), aux éditions Europart-Music et aux éditions Armianes.
Il donne de nombreux concerts en France, en Europe : Allemagne, Autriche, Grande-Bretagne (Londres, Cathédrale Saint-Paul, Coventry, Chester, Newcastle …), Suisse, à la Cathédrale de Monaco et aux Etats-Unis.
