Frederik Magle, award-winning contemporary composer, concert organist and pianist was born in 1977. Member of the Danish Composer's Society.

He began composing at the age of 5 and took lessons of piano and music theory from the age of six. The first public performance of his music took place when he was 8 years old.

Frederik Magle's music has been performed by The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Zürcher Kammerorchester, The Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Riga Philharmonic Orchestra, South-Jutland Symphony Orchestra, The Danish Radio Sinfonietta, Nikolaj Znaider and many other outstanding ensembles and soloists.

The world premiere performance of the first movement of Frederik Magle's symphonic poem "Cantabile" (with text by H.R.H. Prince Henrik) took place on June 10th, 2004 at a televised gala concert, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, in celebration of H.R.H. the Prince Consort's 70th birthday.

Frederik Magle Frederik Magle also works with film scores and crossovers between classical music and other genre such as rock, jazz, electronica (and others). He has also worked as producer - and occasionally sound engineer - on many recording sessions.

As a soloist Frederik Magle has played in - among many other places - Saint Peter's Basilica (Rome), Windsor Castle, Luzern Concert Hall, Riga Cathedral, The Danish Radio Concert Hall (on many occasions). In 1999 Frederik played at the christening of H.H. Prince Nikolai, and later he was invited to perform a solo concert for the danish Royal family on the pipe organ at Fredensborg Castle. On the 4th of October 2002, his piece "Pact of the Baptism" was given it's premiere performance at the christening of H.H. Prince Felix in Mogeltonder Church.

He won the the Danish part of the Eurovision competition for young soloists in 1994, and made it to the finals in Warsaw.

Frederik Magle has also received many grants and prizes, including the honourful Grant of H.R.H. The Prince Consort, The Grant of H.H. Prince Joachim and H.H. Princess Alexandra, Countess Erna Hamilton's scolarship (twice), Carlsberg's Prize of Ideas, Unibank's Arts Prize and The Grand Arts Award of the Free Masons (2001)

Frederik Magle - komponist, koncertorganist og pianist. Født 1977. Medlem af Dansk Komponist Forening.

Begyndte at komponere som 5-årig. Modtog undervisning i klaverspil og nodeskrivning fra 6-års alderen. Første offentlige opførelse af et værk som 8-årig.

Frederik Magles værker er blevet opført af The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Zürcher Kammerorkester, Radiosymfoniorkestret, RadioUnderholdningsOrkestret, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, Rigas Philharmoniske Orkester, Nikolaj Znaider samt mange andre fremragende ensembler og solister.

Den 10. juni 2004 blev 1. satsen "Souffle le vent" af det symfoniske digt "Cantabile" (til tekster af H.K.H. Prins Henrik) uropført af Radiosymoniorkestret og Radiokoret under ledelse af Thomas Dausgaard ved en galla-koncert i Tivolis Koncertsal.

Frederik Magle arbejder også med filmmusik og crossover mellem klassisk kompositionsmusik og andre genrer (bl.a. rock, jazz, electronica og etnisk musik). Desuden har han været producer på flere cd-indspilninger

Som orgel- og klaversolist har Frederik Magle bl.a. spillet i Peterskirken i Rom, Windsor Castle, Luzern Concert Hall, Warszawas Philharmoniske Hal, Rigas Domkirke, Radiohusets Koncertsal og Odense Koncerthus (begge steder adskillige gange). Frederik Magle spillede til H.H. Prins Nikolais dåb i 1999 og H.H. Prins Felix' dåb i 2002.

I 1994 vandt han den danske del af Eurovisionskonkurrencen for unge solister.

Frederik Magle har også modtaget mange legater og priser, bl.a. H.K.H. Prinsens Legat, D.K.H Prins Joachim og Prinsesse Alexandras Legat, Minister Erna Hamiltons Legat for Videnskab og Kunst, Unibanks Kunstnerpris, Carlsbergs Idélegat, Legater fra Lili Zingels Fond og den kulturelle del af Frimurerprisen 2001.
