Laura Kajander studied viola in the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Den Haag conservatory and the Sibelius Academy. She has been taught by Thomas Riebl, Vladimir Mendellssohn, Jürgen Geise, Bruno Giuranna and Jouko Mansnerus and chamber-music with Hagen-quartet. She finished her diploma in 1998.

She has played and recorded with several chamber-music groups, such as the Wiener-Akademie, the Bach-orchestra of Salzburg, Sinfonietta Salzburg, 6th Floor Baroque Orchestra, Finnish-Estonian Baroque Orchestra and Tapiola Sinfonietta, in Finland and most countries in the Central Europe. She is viola player with the Cuarteto nuevAmerica (pictured below)

As soloist of an orchestra she has played in Peru and Kajaani.
