Dr.S.Sarkissyan

Born in 1964 in Yerevan, Avetis Gyogchyan is an honors graduate of Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and an AACU award prize winner. He was invited to the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992 and stayed with them for 10 years, appearing in the tours that covered more than 20 countries of the world and making a considerable reputation.

He has performed in Australia, Austria, Algeria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, Spain, USA, United Kingdom and Switzerland.

In 1999, Avetis Gyogchyan was invited to be Principal cellist to the "Philharmonia Europa"'s “Music of Andrew Lloyd-Weber” National Tour, giving performances with them in 30 cities of the United States.

Since 2001 he has been a principal cellist of the Armenian Virtuosi chamber ensemble under the baton of Maestro Loris Tjeknavorian. In 2001-2003 concerted with AV in Iran, Australian Brisbane Festival and Austria. He also works with the "Rudaky" orchestra, as cello section leader.

His solo recitals have achieved critical acclaim. A large number of contemporary composers have entrusted him with the first performance of their new music.
