Born in Madrid in 1974, Miriam Gómez-Morán received her first piano lesson at the age of eleven at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, where her principal teachers were Carmen Deleito, Manuel Carra (Piano) and José Luis Turina (Harmony). During this period, she often works with Josep Colom. She obtained her Título de Profesor Superior de Piano (equivalent to a Master's degree) in 1994. From 1992 to 1996 she pursues postgraduate studies at the “Liszt Ferenc” Academy of Music in Budapest (Hungary) under the guidance of Prof. Ferenc Rados (Piano and Chamber Music), Kornél Zempléni (Piano) and Károly Botvay (Chamber Music), as a scholarshipholder of the Spanish Foreign Office, Ministry of Education and Culture, AIE and EPTA (Masaveu Prize). From 1998 to 2000 she studies harpsichord and fortepiano with Prof. Dr. Robert Hill and Michael Behringer and piano with Prof. Dr. Tibor Szász at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Freiburg (Germany). She receives scholarships of AIE, EPTA, Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung (Wardwell Grant) and La Caixa-DAAD. She obtained the degree of Musiklehrer in 2000 (Historical Keyboard Instruments) and Künstlerische Ausbildung (Harpsichord / Fortepiano) in 2002, both with the highest marks possible.

She has been a member of “Proyecto Gerhard”, with which she has recorded a CD for the Ministry of Culture, and "Plural Ensemble". With this latter group she has recorded a CD of works by Fabián Panisello for the label "Col legno". She has also worked with other orchestras such as Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Comunidad de Madrid. From 1996 to 1998 she taught at the Music School in Villacañas (Toledo). In november 2000 she took up a professorship at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Salamanca, Spain's leading musical institution.

She has been prize-winner at the following competitions: Marisa Montiel National Piano Competition (1987 and 1993), Ciutat de Carlet National Piano Competition (1991 and 1996) and Ciudad de Segovia National Piano Competition (1993). She won First Prize Pizzicato at Gregorio Baudot Piano Competition (1991), First Prize and Special Prize to the Best Performer of Mozart's Music at the Mozart Piano Competition (1991), and First Prize (category: solo) at the V Patronato L’Arjau Competition (Barcelona, 2000).She has also won the following prizes for chamber music performances: First Prize at the School Competition of the Musikhochschule in Freiburg (1999) and a Special Prize at the Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Competition (Berlin, 2000), both for Chamber Music Performance with Horn; a Special Prize at the Chamber Music Podium of Villatorrada; First Prize in Chamber Music and Second Prize in Catalan Contemporary Music at the V Patronato L’Arjau Competition (Barcelona, 2000); First Prize in duo-trio category at the IV Guadamora International Chamber Music Competition (Córdoba, 2004). Her partners in these competitions were the hornist María Rubio (Freiburg, Berlin) and the violinist Josep Colomé (all competitions).

She has attended masterclasses with Lazar Berman, Edith Picht-Axenfeld, María João Pires, Jan Wijn, Carola Grindea, Ramón Coll, Klaus Hellwig, Rita Wagner, Tibor Szász, Robert Hill, Barry Snyder, László Dobszay, Mária Eckhardt, Paul Badura-Skoda, Charles Rosen, Paul Roberts, László Somfai, Ferenc Rados, Maggie Cole, Arthur Schoonderwoerd and Alan Walker.

Miriam Gómez-Morán made her first public appearance at the age of twelve. Since then, she has performed extensively on the piano, the fortepiano and the harpsichord in various countries, such as France, Hungary, Germany, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain. She has also recorded for radio and television in these countries. Her performaces at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid include: her debut in 1995 (a recital for the 50th Anniversary of United Nations, recorded by Spanish National Radio, that included the world première of “Puteus acerbus” by Rogelio Groba); a concert as soloist with Madrid Symphony Orchestra (1996), and a recital in the “The Piano through its History” series (1998). Other major performances were a harpsichord recital at St. Cecilia´s Hall on the 1755 Kirckman (Edinburgh, 2000) and piano recitals at the Juan March Foundation (Madrid), Liszt Museum (Budapest) and St. Martin in the Fields (London, 2002). She is regularly invited to perform at international festivals such as the Festival of the American Liszt Society, The Great Romantics Festival, Festival de Granada, Festival de Otoño, Tavaszi Hangversenyek, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Festival ENSEMS, Festival Spanish Brass-Luur Metalls, etc.

She has written articles for specialized magazines such as "La Montaña Mágica" and "Quodlibet". In November 2002 she was invited by the Aula de Música of the University in Alcalá de Henares to give a masterclass on "Symbology in the music of Liszt". She has recorded her first solo CD with works by Liszt for the label Verso (VRS 2014) in August 2003.

Alan Walker, autor de la célebre biografía de Liszt en tres volúmenes y gran especialista en el músico húngaro, ha dicho de ella:

"Estuve profundamente impresionado por su recital con obras de Liszt. Su ejecución de las Variaciones "Weinen, Klagen" fue un tour de force, mientras que su interpretación del formidable "Valle de Obermann" fue la mejor que yo haya escuchado jamás. No era sólo una cuestión de técnica, que ella posee en abundancia. Uno se daba cuenta de que una verdadera artista estaba presidiendo al teclado."

Nace en Madrid en 1974. Comienza sus estudios de piano a los 11 años en el Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, teniendo como profesores a Carmen Deleito y Manuel Carra (Piano) y a José Luis Turina (Armonía). Durante este período recibe consejos con frecuencia de Josep Colom. Obtiene su Título de Profesor Superior de Piano en el citado centro en 1994. De 1992 a 1996 realiza sus estudios de perfeccionamiento en la Academia de Música “Liszt Ferenc” de Budapest (Hungría) bajo la dirección de Ferenc Rados (Piano y Música de Cámara), Kornél Zempléni (Piano) y Károly Botvay (Música de Cámara), para lo cual ha recibido becas del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, Ministerio de Educación y Cultura, AIE y EPTA (premio Masaveu). Entre 1998 y 2000 estudia clave y fortepiano bajo la dirección del Prof. Dr. Robert Hill y Michael Behringer, y piano con el Prof. Dr. Tibor Szász en la Staatliche Hochschule für Musik de Freiburg (Alemania), para lo cual recibe becas de AIE, EPTA, Fundación Alexander von Humboldt (beca Wardwell) y La Caixa-DAAD. Obtiene los títulos de Profesor Superior (Musiklehrer) en el año 2000 y de Formación Artística (Künstlerische Ausbildung) en 2002 con las más altas calificaciones en la especialidad de Instrumentos Históricos de Teclado en la citada institución.

Es miembro del “Proyecto Gerhard”, con el que ha participado en la grabación de un CD patrocinado por el Ministerio de Cultura, y del "Plural Ensemble", con el que ha grabado un CD de próxima aparición con obras de Fabián Panisello para el sello "Col legno". Asimismo ha colaborado con otras orquestas como la “Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao” y la “Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid”. De 1996 a 1998 ha sido profesora de la Escuela de Música de Villacañas (Toledo). Desde noviembre del 2000 es catedrática de Piano en el Conservatorio Superior de Música de Salamanca.

Ha sido galardonada en el Concurso Nacional de Piano “Marisa Montiel” (1987 y 1993), en el Concurso Nacional “Ciutat de Carlet” (1991 y 1996) y en el Concurso Nacional de Piano “Ciudad de Segovia” (1993), obteniendo el Primer Premio “Pizzicato” en el Concurso de Piano “Gregorio Baudot” (1991), el Primer Premio y Premio Especial al Mejor Intérprete de Mozart en el concurso “Mozart” (1991) y el Primer Premio en la categoría de interpretación individual del V Concurso del Patronato L’Arjau (Barcelona, 2000). Como componente de grupos de música de cámara ha ganado el Primer Premio en el “Concurso Interno“ de la Musikhochschule de Freiburg (1999) y el Premio Especial en el “ Concurso Mendelssohn” (Berlín, 2000), ambos en la categoría de Música de Cámara con instrumento obligado (Trompa), un Accésit en los “Podiums de música de cámara de Villatorrada”, así como el Primer Premio de música de cámara y el Segundo Premio de Música Catalana Contemporánea del V Concurso del Patronato L’Arjau (Barcelona, 2000). En mayo de 2003 ha obtenido el Primer Premio en la categoría de dúos-tríos en el IV Concurso Internacional de Música de Cámara "Guadamora". Sus compañeros de grupo en estos concursos camerísticos fueron la trompista María Rubio (Freiburg, Berlín) y el violinista Josep Colomé (todos los concursos).

Ha realizado cursos de perfeccionamiento como alumna activa con los profesores Lazar Berman, Edith Picht-Axenfeld, María João Pires, Jan Wijn, Carola Grindea, Ramón Coll, Klaus Hellwig, Rita Wagner, Tibor Szász, Robert Hill, Barry Snyder, László Dobszay, Mária Eckhardt, Paul Badura-Skoda, Charles Rosen, Paul Roberts, László Somfai, Ferenc Rados, Maggie Cole, Arthur Schoonderwoerd y Alan Walker.

Desde los doce años mantiene una creciente actividad concertística como pianista, clavecinista y fortepianista que la ha llevado a tocar en Francia, Hungría, Alemania, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Italia y España, lugares en los que ha realizado diversas grabaciones para radio y televisión. Sus actuaciones en el Auditorio Nacional de Madrid incluyen: su presentación en 1995 con motivo de la celebración del 50 Aniversario de la ONU, ofreciendo un recital grabado por RNE que incluía el estreno de la obra “Puteus acerbus” de Rogelio Groba; un concierto como solista con Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (1996), y un recital dentro del ciclo “El Piano a través de su Historia” (1998). Otras actuaciones destacadas son: un recital de clave en St. Cecilia´s Hall en el Kirckman de 1755 (Edimburgo, 2000) y recitales en la Fundación Juan March (Madrid), en el Museo Liszt de Budapest y en St. Martin in the Fields (Londres, 2002). Participa frecuentemente en diversos festivales tanto en España como en el extranjero (Festival de la “American Liszt Society”, Festival “The Great Romantics”, “Festival de Granada”, “Festival de Otoño”,”Tavaszi Hangversenyek”, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Festival ENSEMS, Festival "Spanish Brass-Luur Metalls", etc.).

Su interés por la música de cámara la ha llevado a formar dúo estable con Patrín García-Barredo (piano a 4 manos), Javier Bonet (trompa natural y fortepiano) y Josep Colomé (violín y piano).
