Pianist GILA GOLDSTEIN, a native of Israel who resides in New York City has emerged as an important young artist on the concert stage today. Ms. Goldstein, who is known as a very versatile musician has captivated audiences around the world with her unique artistry, inspiring personality and soulful interpretations. Often recognized as well for offering bold renditions to the traditional classical repertoire, her playing was perceived as profound, electrifying and sensual.

Her first CD, Piano Works by Paul Ben-Haim, (Israel's leading composer, d. 1984) was released on June 2001 on the label Centaur. The CD has received raving reviews at the American Record Guide and Piano Journal London among other publications. This CD marks a significant addition to the few commercial CDs of Israeli classical music, in particular piano music, and therefore meaningful for the understanding of this genre and for increasing its international recognition. It is also an important contribution to the discography of 20th century piano literature in general.

Among her most recent solo performances were her New York Recital Debut at Merkin Concert Hall and her UK Debut at the 10th London International Jewish Music Festival, performance of the Schumann piano concerto with the Bellas Artes Chamber Orchestra at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, performances at the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh International Great Romantics Festival in Hamilton, Canada and recitals in St. Louis, Chicago, Paris, California, Canada, Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. As a collaborative pianist she has performed, to mention few, in New York's Merkin Concert Hall, the Ravinia "Rising Stars" Winter Series in Chicago, the Gardner Museum in Boston, the Israeli Embassy in Washington D.C., Sala Casals in Puerto Rico, Musée de Louvre in Paris, the Jerusalem Music Center and the Tel-Aviv Museum. She has been heard on Israeli Radio as well as National Public Radio, WQXR, and many more radio stations in North America and Europe. Her video has been aired on Bravo! Canada.

Gila Goldstein CD cover Gila Goldstein holds a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music where she studied with Mrs. Nina Svetlanova and a Bachelor of Music from the Rubin Academy of Music at the Tel-Aviv University where her teacher was Prof. Victor Derevianko.

A Board member of the American Liszt Society, she is also the Founder-President of its New-York Chapter since 1992. Ms. Goldstein serves on the faculty of the Choir Academy of Harlem and has toured with the renowned Boys Choir of Harlem in more than 10 US states (including Washington DC's Kennedy Center) as well as at the 1999 Israel Festival.
