David Barnard Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, the brilliant young Musical Director, pianist and vocal coach David Barnard attended the Flinders Street School of Music where he studied with distinguished pianist and chamber musician Diana Harris.

In November 2000, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Performance) and an Advanced Diploma of Music (Accompaniment) with Distinctions in all subjects. At the age of 18, he was the youngest graduate of the school and in May 2001 was awarded the Adelaide Institute Council Graduate Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements during study and his commitment to the school as a senior Student Representative.

In 1998 David began his solo career, and continued to appear as a soloist with various orchestras and ensembles in Adelaide and around Australia. Throughout his time in Australia he appeared as accompanist to many musicians, singers and choirs with performances in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart.

In April 2000 David was appointed as a Repetiteur for the State Opera of South Australia. He was subsequently employed by Opera Australia and as an Orchestral Pianist by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

After touring Europe with an Australian choir (Voiceworks), David has lived in Sheffield, England, and is fulfilling a busy career as a freelance accompanist, soloist and Repetiteur throughout South Yorkshire and the Midlands. He is currently appointed as Musical Director for Sheffield City Opera as well as working in schools for Sheffield Music Services, and also plays for the City of Sheffield Young Choirs.
