Abbott & O'Gorman Piano Duo
Abbott & O'Gorman Piano Duo Before the radio or gramophone, the great composers transcribed their ballets and large orchestral works for the full gamut of colour and percussive effects of the piano and twenty fingers. Jocelyn Abbott and Laura O’Gorman are acclaimed champions of “ŕ quatre mains” playing, commissioning transcriptions and themselves adapting arrangements of the orchestral repertoire. The piano duo formed in 1992. They are both Steinway Artists and honorary associates of the Royal Academy of Music. They have played concerts internationally and recorded two CDs.

Jocelyn Abbott is a Canadian pianist educated at the University of Victoria, BC and the Royal Academy of Music in London. She has been performing professionally since 1978, touring internationally, and appearing on radio and television including the BBC. Her recordings include Stravinsky's Petrouchka at the Wigmore hall. She has advised Trinity College of Music on their examination syllabus and organised a 24-hour fund-raising duet marathon at the Royal Festival Hall for Crusaid with over 100 pianists including Sir George Solti.

Laura O’Gorman is a British pianist educated at the Royal Academy of Music and the Moscow Conservatory, amongst others. She has performed in Europe's major concert halls including the Bolshoi Hall and Amsterdam's Concertgeboewe. Her solo recitals have been given in UK venues such as the Wigmore and St. John Smith Square, and throughout the former Soviet Union. She broadcasts frequently on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
