Florilegium and its musicians have been described as "poets and magicians who will hypnotise your mind in the magic of their music". Its performances and recordings have received critical acclaim both at home and in major international circuits. Since its foundation by Ashley Solomon and Neal Peres Da Costa, Florilegium has established a reputation for both stylish and exciting interpretations of music from the 17th,18th and early 19th centuries. Flexibility of instrumentation has enabled Florilegium to present a wide range of repertoire and to experiment with a variety of sounds and nuances akin to the vibrant colours of a painter's pallette. Florilegium's CD releases have received critical acclaim, having been awarded such prizes as the "Diapason d'Or" and "Choc de la Musique" and is presently nominated for a Gramaphone Award. Florilegium records for the Dutch label Channel Classics. In 1998 Florilegium was name the Baroque Ensemble-In-Residence at London's Wigmore Hall.
On tour in North America April 22 - May 6, 2001 - program: Les Nations with Telemann, Vivaldi, Bach, Couperin, Leclair.
