A remarkable artist
from Norway, Anne-Lise Berntsen
has developed a strong following in the United States and
Europe through concerts and recordings. She appeared in the lead role of Gefor's Cry Wolf
in Malmö, Sweden, repeated
in January/February 1998 in Malmo and Stockholm. In June 1997
she made her debut with the San Jose Symphony in Mahler's
Sympony No. 2. She made her Long Beach Symphony debut in
spring 1998.
Anne-Lise Berntsen has
recorded a most unusual, even astonishing recording of
old Norwegian hymns accompanied by contemporary organ
improvisations that has received tremendous acclaim:
Engleskyts. Engleskyts continues to be in demand for
programs throughout the world. A second recording is
in preparation.
