Kenneth Stiles

Countertenor


Kenneth Stiles is a Countertenor based in West Yorkshire (UK). An experienced soloist and choral singer, he was, for many years, a member of the Choir of Canterbury Cathedral with whom he travelled extensively and made many recordings and television and radio broadcasts.

A specialist in music of the baroque period, he has recently been involved as a soloist in performances of Bach's Mass in B Minor and has sung the part of Micah in Handel's oratorio 'Samson' for Leeds College of Music.

Other recent performances include Bach's Cantatas BWV54, 'Widerstehe doch der Sunde' for solo Countertenor and strings and BWV159 'Sehet, wir geh'n hinauf gen Jerusalem' for solo Bass and Countertenor.

He has sung in many different locations and buildings including the Cathedrals in Canterbury, Rochester, St. Albans and Washington DC and many smaller venues both in the UK and Europe and the USA.
