Alim Shakhmametyev
Conductor
The conductor Alim Shakhmametyev was born in Leningrad in 1975. Following studies at
the Glinka Choir School and the Rimsky-Korsakov music school, he studied choral conducting with Professor
F. Kozlov for five years and opera and symphonic conducting with Prof. I. Musin and Prof. A. Polishchuk at
The St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire.
His work conducting chamber and symphony orchestras and choirs has included:
- 1992:
- Glinka Choir School, practice as choir master
- 1993 - 1994:
- "Euterpe" chamber choir, choir master
- Since 1994:
- "Euterpe" chamber theatre, conductor
- 1994, August:
- participation in Orchestrades Universelles, Brive (France)
with "Euterpe" chamber choir
- 1994, October:
- Tour of Germany with "Euterpe" chamber choir
- 1995:
- concerts in Russia with "Euterpe" chamber choir
- Since 1995:
- Chief Conductor of the Choral music chamber theatre "Euterpe"
- 1996, February:
- concert in St.Petersburg Philharmony with "Euterpe" chamber choir and St.Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra
- 1996, July:
- Tour of France with orchestra "Vivat, Russia!"
- 1997, July:
- active participation in Weimar Masterkurs with Weimar State Cappella
(Orchestra Conducting, prof. George A. Albrecht)
- 1998, May:
- concert in Glazunov Hall
with St. Petersburg Conservatoire Choir and Orchestra
- 1998, September:
- Tour of USA with Youth Chamber Choir of Saint-Petersburg
