The Serafino Trio The Serafino Trio, based in Mallorca, Spain, was formed in December, 1998. The members of the group, pianist Suzanne Bradbury, violinist Jennifer Peck, and cellist David Bruce Runnion are graduates of some of the world's finest conservatories. Each brings years of performance experience to this newly-formed group, from string quartets in Alaska to concert performances with the Boston Symphony to solo tours of Europe.

The Serafino's debut concert was on 17 July 1999, in Cala Millor, Mallorca; the trio has since appeared twice at the prestigious International Festival of Music of Deaà and also at the Banyulbufar Festival, both in Mallorca. Their performances of trios by Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Shostakovich, Arthur Foote and Joaquin Turina have been highly praised by critics and audiences alike. Commenting on the trio's debut, Miquel Ballester wrote in the Diari de Balears that the group "came together in a sonorous fusion of superiour quality...we find ourselves before a new chamber group of the highest level, deserving of the warmest welcome and for whom one can easily predict a clamourous future success."

In addition to the traditional piano-trio repertoire, the Serafino plans to explore the works of lesser-known and contemporary composers for the combination, focusing on North-American and European Romantics such as Arthur Foote and Rebecca Clarke, and contemporary and romantic music from the Iberian Peninsula such as Xavier Montsalvatge and Joaquin Turina. Another important aspect of the group will be to commission and record new works.

Their first disc, featuring trios by Arthur Foote and Dmitri Shostakovich, was recently completed and the group is in negotiations for worldwide distribution. Excerpts are can be heard at mp3.com. Feedback from listeners has been extraordinary.

Having finished its first recording, the trio is now turning its attention to scheduling concerts, both in Spain and worldwide. One of the great benefits of being chamber musicians is the opportunity to travel the world, playing together and gaining performance experience, as well as seeing new places. With that in mind, the Serafino is concentrating its efforts in places such as the United States (New England and California especially, so we can visit our families), Finland, Australia (Jennifer has family there too) and New Zealand. and Japan. These are just places we would love to visit.
