Rory A. Ringrose-Stona

Piano, composer


Rory A. Ringrose-Stona, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, is the third of three to Rudolph and Daphne A. Stona. A lover of the concert repertoire, an admirer and avid performer of the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff, he began studying music at age three-plus.

Among numerous scholarships and awards to his music and academic credits, Rory twice received trophies and honorariums from the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, in Washington, DC, for his contributions to the field of literary composition. He was the winner of the President of the United States' Most Prized Student Award. In 1992 he was nominated via the DC Commission on the Arts for an award given to a performing artist by the Mayor of Washington, DC.

Mr. Ringrose-Stona was also a candidate for the 1993 DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities' Excellence in Performance Award. He has also given command performances for the last three Presidents of the United States of America, as well as the past Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Right Honorable Edward Seaga.

Rory has studied with such renowned tutors as Professor Marilyn Neeley, piano, Dr. George Sanders, piano, Professor Robert Gerle, violin and orchestral conducting, Dr. James Litzelman, piano, Ms. Antoinette Mellignani, piano technique, and Dr. Robert Grogan, organ. All studies were done at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.

Rory currently resides in the suburbs of Brooklyn, New York.
