Uljas Voitto Pulkkis The Finnish composer Uljas Voitto Pulkkis studied mathematics and musicology at Helsinki University before studying composition privately with Tapani Länsiö 1994–1997 and orchestration and composition privately with Harri Vuori 1995–1997. Since 1997 he has been studying composition with Tapani Länsiö at the Sibelius Academy. He has also worked in Master Classes with with Magnus Lindberg, Jouni Kaipainen and Esa-Pekka Salonen (Porvoo, Finland).

His many prizes for composition have included:

Uljas Voitto Pulkkis is a member of The Society of Finnish Composers, and participates in the "Ears Open!" society's various projects and concerts. At the Internet concert of the Warszawa festival Autumn 1998 he played two audiovisual instruments, and also took part in Ung Nordisk Musik (UNM) festival in Oslo 1998. In April 2000 he will participate in the Torino Biennale, Italy, as a guest invited by the Universal Edition (first performance of Music for Clarinet & Double Bass).
