Allan Neave presently teaches at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music &
Drama,Glasgow and at the University of St Andrews. To date he has been
active in the promotion of new music, with many composers writing works for
him; Stephen Dodgson, Nikita Koshkin, Edward McGuire*, Alasdair Nicolson*
and Gordon McPherson* producing substantial works for the instrument!

He performs regularly at many of the world's leading festivals, recently at the Zory and Tychy Festivals,Poland, the Celebrity Concert Series,Holland, the Scottish Guitar Festival and the Bath International Guitar Festival . His touring schedule has recently taken Allan to the USA,Spain, Ireland,Germany, France in the past few years and in 2000 will take him to Peru for the first time! He has performed for many broadcasting organisations; Polish TV, Radio France, BBC Radio 3, RadioSodre, ABC are amongst many worldwide who use his work.
Highlights of the 1997 season included the launch of his CD of contemporary Scottish guitar music; the world's first live internet guitar gig ; performances of Rodrigo's 'Aranjuez' with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the European premiere of Steve Reich's 'Nagoya Guitars' in duo with the American virtuoso David Tanenbaum. 1998 was no less exciting with performances in the United States and at the first Northern Ireland Guitar Festival in Belfast. 1999 has seen the launch of 2 more recordings reflecting Allan's eclectic tastes, one commissioned for the opening of DCA, a new visual arts centre in Dundee of multi tracked guitars and percussion 'Friends in strange places' by Gordon McPherson and a second in Celtic vein with jazz guitar virtuoso Don Paterson called 'Baldragon'. Allan is also involved in a rare performance of one of the 20th centuries seminal works 'El Cimarron' by Hans Werner Henze in Manchester this October.
