Soprano


Anita Morrison  Anita Morrison (Soprano) gained a B.Ed.(Hons.) Degree, continuing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with awards from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust and Cripplegate Foundation, winning the 1989 Maggie Teyte Prize Competition, and to the National Opera Studio, funded by the Gerald McDonald Scholarship awarded by the RVW Trust. She was a runner-up in the 1998 Bayreuth Bursary competition awarded by the Wagner Society.

Performances include recitals in Holland and Belgium, Wolf Italian Songbook at Blackheath Concert Halls, Strauss Vier Letzte Lieder at St. Martin in the Fields & St. Georges, Brandon Hill, a recital with Geoffrey Parsons at the 1990 Chichester Festival, and appearances with the Dallapiccola Ensemble in London, Milan and Rome with whom she has recorded Dallapiccola's 13 Liriche Greche.

Operatic Roles include Alice Falstaff, Wolf-Ferrari's Susanna's Secret in Singapore, Fiordiligi Cosi fan tutte, Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Musetta La Boheme, Rosalinda Die Fledermaus, Tatyana Eugene Onegin, Micaela The Tragedy of Carmen (ECOV European Tour), Marenka The Bartered Bride, and she covered Arminda La Finta Giardiniera and Countess The Marriage of Figaro for Opera North.

Anita is also in demand as a teacher. Since 1991 she has worked with the choristers of Westminster Cathedral as teacher and coach. She also teaches at Eton College, St. Mary's School Ascot and Selwyn College Cambridge, is a regular guest teacher on Eton Choral Courses and has given workshops and masterclasses at Ampleforth College, Tonbridge School, Christs Hospital and for Guildford Choral Society and The City of London Choir.
