Dino Mastroyiannis, an eminent pianist from Volos, Greece, holds a prestigious position among the most distinguished contemporary Greek pianists.
Studies
He took his first lessons in music in Volos, as a pupil of Eli Adam. He graduated from the Conservatory of Athens where he studied with Alice Vatikioti, under Professor Friedrich Wuehrer.
Dino earned his Soloist Diploma with the highest grade: "unanimously considered excellent and winner of the First Prize".
He graduated in upper theoretical studies in music of the Conservatory of Piraeus, and also a music graduate of the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki.
Master-classes
He has supervised numerous master classes for piano and chamber-music in Austria (International Summer Academy University "Mozarteum" Salzburg), in Germany (Hannover Music Academy), in Switzerland (Sion Music Academy) and in Greece with the famous Bulgarian couple Konstantin & Julia Ganevi, with Vassily Lobanov (students of Heinrich Neuhaus), and especially with one of the greatest pianists of our century, the Brazilian Roberto Szidon.
Performances
Dino Mastroyiannis has given recitals and chamber-music recitals in various towns of Greece and abroad.
He has cooperated as a soloist with many orchestras, such as the Slovak State Philharmonic Orchestra Kosice (Slovak Republic), the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra (Republic of Macedonia), the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), the State Philharmonic Orchestra "Oltenia" (Romania), the Vratca Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), the Thessaloniki State Orchestra (Greece), the Volos Symphony Orchestra (Greece), etc., always receiving flattering reviews from the press and also from famous pianists and musicologists of international reputation, such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Roberto Szidon, Konstantin Ganev, George Hadjinikos, etc.
He has recorded many times for the Greek Broadcasting (ERA) and performed for the Greek television (ET3).
He has collaborated as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra of Skopje in two great concerts and was favoured with the most flattering reviews from the critics and the audience. The orchestra was conducted by Angel Shurev (Director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, Yugoslav F.R.) and by Vladimir Altschuler (Conductor of the St.-Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Russia).
He has performed in many festivals, such as the International Music Festival Skopje Summer (Macedonia), the International Music Festival "Thracia Summer"(Bulgaria), International Festival Craiova Musicale (Romania), and at the Kezmarok Spring Chamber-Music Festival (Slovakia).
Recently he has performed a triumphant solo recital at the famous building Ateneul Roman in Bucharest, where almost all the greatest artists of the 20th century have appeared. This recital was arranged by the "George Enescu" Philharmonic Orchestra of Bucharest.
He has also performed as a soloist with the famous Moyzes Quartet in a chamber-music concert in Bratislava (Slovakia), as part of the 51st Concert season of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra.
Invitations
He is invited to perform in the Kiev Summer Musical Evenings Festival (Ukraine).
He will collaborate as soloist with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony (Illinois, USA) , where he will also perform a solo recital and give a master-class.
