Peter Gilbert-Dyson

Conductor

Peter Gilbert-Dyson belongs to that breed of conductor, led by Sir Thomas Beecham, who are so filled with impatient energy that, at the first opportunity, they form their own orchestra. Peter is Music Director of The Belmont Ensemble of London, One of the Principal Orchestras at St.Martin-in-the-Fields, London, as well as giving regular monthly concerts at London's South Bank Centre, where they are noted for their performances of Baroque music on modern instruments.

Having studied at the Royal Academy of Music with some of the greatest conductors, including Simon Rattle, Colin Davis and Leonard Slatkin, Peter is well equipped as a regular guest conductor with orchestras around the world.

He has broadcast on BBC Radio and the UK's prime television stations, as well as having several critically acclaimed recordings to his credit.
