Lisa Forstmann

Soprano

"a creamy voice; she has a nice, dignified stage presence as well."
-The Dallas Morning News, Sunday, March 5, 2000

Lisa Forstmann Formerly a singing chef at a popular Italian restaurant in Dallas, Lisa Forstmann's career changed forever when she decided to turn toward operatic performance. In 1996, this talented young soprano auditioned for Southern Methodist University's opera theater, and instantly received a vocal scholarship and was offered the leading soprano role in their production of The Merry Widow in the same year. Since then, she has continued to expand her natural talent for opera singing into a serious profession with a very bright future.

Since her discovery in 1996, Lisa Forstmann has developed her natural, pure sound into a fully lyric soprano voice. Her elegant stage presence, impeccable diction, and acting skills have landed her other lead roles with the MEADOWS OPERA THEATER, including Lucy (The Telephone), Mary Warren (The Crucible), and Anna Maurrant (Street Scene).

Lisa Forstmann is also a finalist for the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA CENTER'S prestigious MEROLA PROGRAM, and a finalist for the DALLAS OPERA'S Career Grant for opera singers which included a cash award. Upcoming engagements include Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Manon (Manon) with HOUSTON'S OPERA IN THE HEIGHTS in September, 2000.
