Craig Einhorn Craig Einhorn was born and raised in Yonkers, N.Y. He fell in love with the guitar at age twelve. At age 17 he left for the State University of New York at Fredonia (outside of Buffalo). There he intended to study sound recording but changed his mind after discovering the Classical Guitar. In 1988 he earned a bachelor degree in Music Performance. In the same year he received a full scholarship to the Arizona State Graduate School of Music and completed his Masters in 1990. Since 1990 Craig was staff in the Arizona State Dance Department, where he accompanied and composed for Modern Dance. It was during his employment at ASU Dance that Craig was given the honor of accompanying Katherine Dunham, pioneer of modern Dance. In addition he mastered electronic musical instruments and devices, taught courses in Jazz History, Electronic Music, Music Appreciation, History of Rock and Roll, Music Theory, and Guitar, at local community colleges, and performed extensively throughout Arizona. In 1995 he released a CD entitled "In With the Old, In With the New" which has received critical acclaim. Barbara Walters used several selections from this CD on National Television. Selections were also utilized by Minnesota Public Radio. In 1996 Craig relocated to Eugene, OR because of the rich artistic population. There Craig teaches Classical Guitar and Song Writing at Lane Community College, performs throughout Oregon, and owns and operates a recording studio. In February of 1999 Craig was a soloist with the Lane Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Ron Bertucci. It was also in 1999 that Craig began an association with Mason Williams, composer of "Classical Gas". In July of 1999 Craig and Mason recorded together and they are planning more collaboration in the future including performances of Mason's music with various Orchestras. In September of 1999 Craig was the featured soloist with the Port Angeles Symphony under the baton of Nico Snell performing five Mason Williams pieces. In December of 1999 Craig was the soloist with the Salem Pops Orchestra performing other Mason Williams pieces. In January 2000 Craig was a soloist with the Oregon Mozart Players, under the baton of Francis Graffeo, performing the Concerto in D major by Vivaldi. In March of 2000 Craig accompanied the University of Oregon Chamber Choir in a modern composition by Jeffrey Van (40 singers and an amplified Classical Guitar). Most recently Craig was selected by the Lane Arts Council for the Artists in Schools Program. In this program Craig visits elementary, middle, and high schools to perform and lecture on the art of Classical Guitar. The year 2000 is a monumental year in which Craig releases his new CD entitled "Obras".

The New CD, "Obras"

The Obras CD features Mason Williams as a guest performer and also contains four Mason Williams guitar compositions including "Classical Gas". The CD also contains a unique version of Vivaldi's Concerto in D. The violinist for the two violin parts is Leslie Sawyer, concert master of the Eugene Symphony. The Celist is Dale Bradley who performs with the Oregon Mozart Players. The Bassist is Guy Tyler who performs with the Eugene Opera Company. The harpsichord was replaced by mandolin, Craig transcribed and performed the mandolin part. Other works on the "Obras" CD include original compositions by Craig, a composition by Art Madox, the Chet Atkins version of "Vincent" by Don McLean (instrumental), and more.
