Vitezslav Cernoch (1965) was born in Karlovy Vary.
He started to play the violin at the age of 5, finished his early studies at the Prague Conservatory and later at the Prague Academy of the Performing Arts where he studied with Professors Jaroslav Foltyn and Nora Grumlikova.
He also continued his studies with Russian Professor Oleg Krysa through master classes in Germany.
During his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts, he was invited by the Venezuela Embassy to participate as a soloist in which he gave a recital and a solo performance at the Venezuela international music festival.
He has participated in several international competitions where he has been awarded prestigious prizes. He won the first prize in the Kocian international competition and in the Beethoven concours he won first prize in the chamber music and in the fallowing year he won third prize in the solo competition.
He has since performed solo works with several symphony orchestras including the Prague symphony, Caracas national symphony, Moravia Philharmony Olomouc symphony and many others.
He has also been an active performer of contemporary music. He has performed challenging works with semitones by composers such as Alois Haba.
In 1992 he became the concert master of the chamber ensemble Czech Nonet and performed throughout the world and made several recordings. In 1995 he become the first violinist of the world-renowned Stamitz Quartet, in which he continues to play today.
He has released many outstanding recordings and regularly performs in Prague and through out Europe, Asia, and America.
