The important goal of Carmina Slovenica, as one of the world's most important groups in the children and youth choirs movement, is to promote the idea - "Music at the service of Peace" - through the heritage of Slovenian and international choral music in performances at home and abroad.

Carmina Slovenica has already performed with this idea in many countries (South Africa, Croatia, Canada, Germany, United States of America, Poland, Denmark, G. Britain, Belgium, Hungary, Finland...) with great success.

Because its high artistic quality of performances and the fact that music is one of the factors for bringing people together, all choir international activities hold the same importance in both fields: in the "Art" and "Music for Peace".

Extensive study of international choir music led to the methodical learning of pieces from different cultures, from Eskimos to Estonians. In addition to a cappella music of all genres, Carmina Slovenica has undertaken projects such as: Mahler's Eighth Symphony, Penderecki's St. Lukas Passion, Bach's Magnificat, Cornelius's Mass in d-minor, Mozart's Requiem, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Orff's Carmina Burana.

Carmina Slovenica is a member of IFCM, ISME and Europa Cantat.

Innovative and ingenious choreographies, a daring image, and courage in tackling contemporary musical challenges are the features of Carmina Slovenica. Whether in Paris, Vancouver, Johannesburg or Maribor the audience thrills to the opening chords of their concerts.
