Although very young (born in 1983), Elizabeth Borowsky has achieved international recognition as a very talented and promising artist of her generation. A native of Maryland, Elizabeth Borowsky began her piano studies at age four. Since 1989, she has studied with the well known pianists Virginia Reinecke and Reynaldo Reyes (University of Maryland-Towson) and has received valuable assistance from other prominent American and European pianists, including Leon Fleisher (Peabody), Andrzej Jasinski (Katowice), Ward Davenny (Yale), and Veronika Jochum (New England Conservatory).
Elizabeth gave her first public performance in Baltimore at age seven. Since then, she has been invited to perform in the USA and abroad, including Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Iceland, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Poland, and Switzerland. Her concerts in Bulgaria (1992), Poland (1993, 1998, 1999, 2000), Indonesia (1996), Japan (1998), and Korea (1998) were nationally/internationally televised. Elizabeth's performance of the Haydn D-Major Concerto with the Polish Camerata has been broadcast worldwide several times by Pol-Sat TV, since September 1999. Elizabeth's musicality and technique have impressed audiences and musical experts alike. She has received both national and international awards and prizes including the International Music Talent Award, the International Young Artists Award (1997), and the Heidelberg Grand Prix (1998). Together with her brother Emmanuel, she received the Best '99 CD Prize for her debut CD "Pearls of Music" (distributed worldwide by www.amazon.com). In 2000, Elizabeth was awarded the distinguished Cultural Achievement Award from the Middle East Consortium of the International Friends of Music- Jerusalem, as well as won the Scholarship Competition of the Chopin Foundation of the United States. Most recently, the International Music Council/UNESCO invited Elizabeth to perform at the World Child Prodigy Concert with Emmanuel.
