On February 7, 1998, 10-year old violinist Emmanuel Borowsky performed the Violin Concerto in A minor by Antonio Vivaldi in Washington D.C., before a sold-out audience of over 9,000 people. His superb performance was rewarded with a massive standing ovation. For this performance, Emmanuel received the Antonio Vivaldi Medal.
Emmanuel Borowsky is one of the most outstanding violinists of his generation. Born in 1987, he has studied violin since he was four years old. He studies with Zoltan Szabo, and receives advice from Roman Totenberg (Boston), Eric Friedman (Yale), Herbert Greenberg (Peabody), and Dorothy DeLay (Julliard). Emmanuel gave his first public performance in Baltimore at the age of six. Following his successful debut, he has been invited to perform concerts and recitals in the USA, Canada, Germany, Poland, Korea, and Japan.
In 1997, Emmanuel received the Young Artist Award and performed for the United Television Network. He also is the winner of several young artists competitions and awards including the Maryland Young Talent Competition (1998), The Best '99 CD Prize for his debut CD, "Pearls of Music" recorded on the ICRecords label with his sister Elizabeth (pianist) and distributed world-wide by www.amazon.com. In 2000, he and his sister received in Jerusalem the distinguished Cultural Achievement Award from the Middle East Consortium of the International Music Council .
During 1999/2000, he successfully toured Poland, Israel, Jordan, and Germany. Emmanuel's performance with the Polish Camerata has been broadcast worldwide by Pol-Sat TV several times since September 1999. Most recently, the International Music Council/UNESCO invited Emmanuel to perform at the World Child Prodigy Concert.
