Alessio Benvenuti

Born in Torrita di Siena, Italy in 1976, Alessio Benvenuti has already made his mark in the Italian music world.
One of his ancestors (G.Benvenuti) was violin teacher of Arcangelo Corelli (1666).
Alessio Benvenuti made his first appearance as soloist with the Orchestra of the National Theatre of Bucharest in spring 1997 and performed in both England and Unites States in same year. In 1997/98, he performed with the European Youth Orchestra "Arturo Toscanini" of Parma and was violin soloist with the Arturo Toscanini Chamber Orchestra, created from the larger Youth Orchestra. Benvenuti is the First violin of the Janacek Quartet, which performed in the film "First Music, Then Words", directed by Fulvio Wetzl, a highlight of the New York Film Festival. His natural talent and his studies (Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, Academy Chigiana in Siena, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Juilliard School in New York) have allowed him to rise to the top in the international music world. Benvenuti began his studies at age of four. Graduating at the Cherubini Conservatory of Music in Florence, in both violin and piano, his teachers were: Henry Szering, Franco Gulli, Riccardo Brengola, Boris Belkin, Uto Ughi, Ruggiero Ricci, Igor Oistrach, Dorothy DeLay. As soloist he has performed with the Orchestra of the National Theatre of Bucarest, Toscanini Youth Chamber Orchestra, Jupiter Chamber Orchestra, Saarbrucken Symphonic Orchestra. In 1999, with Ministerial Decree, the Italian State recognized him as Artist of High Value. He performs both as soloist with orchestra, chamber orchestra, violin and piano duo in all the European countries and in the United States. In New York he has performed with success in the “Merkin Moses Concert Hall” and in the “Kauffman Concert Hall” with the pianist Alessandro Tricomi. Benvenuti is the First Violin of the Janacek Quartet, which performed in the film “First Music, Then Words”, directed by Fulvio Wetzl, a highlight of the New York Film Festival. Benvenuti has recorded the complete “Sonate e Partite” for solo violin by J.S.Bach, “24 Capricci Op.1” by N.Paganini, “Six Sonates” Op.27 for solo violin by Eugene Ysaye, “The Four Sesons” by Vivaldi, Concert G-Dur Kv 216 e Kv219 by W.A.Mozart, The Concert Op.61 by L.v.Beethoven. Alessio Benvenuti is also a composer with many Compositions to his credit. The son of the great David Oistrach, present at a concert of Alessio, complimented him because his playing reminded him of the interpretation, musicality, technical quality and elegance of bowing his father. Since May 2000 he ihas been Principal Violin of "Millennium International Youth Orchestra".
