Mezzo Soprano
The maturity and warmth of Sarah Barber's young mezzo voice has thrilled audiences and hailed much acclaim. Her promising career is well under-way as she has participated in young artist programs with both Central City Opera and Des Moines Metro Opera.
Sarah is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa and is anticipating a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder this spring. While finishing her Masters, Sarah has maintained a busy performance schedule including appearances with CU Opera, Central City Opera Outreach, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and numerous competitions and recitals.
Most recently, Sarah has been seen as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Mary Stone in The Devil and Daniel Webster, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, and Sister Valentine in Dialogues of the Carmelites. Upcoming engagements include Edith in Pirates of Penzance with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and Dame Quickly in Falstaff with CU Opera.
