Matthew J. Barrie Matthew J. Barrie has performed in Canada, Asia, Europe, and all Fifty States. Matt has performed with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra-as Concertmaster, the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL, and the Spoleto U.S.A Festival Orchestra in Charleston, SC.

As a graduate of the New England Conservatory in Boston, he studied with Masuko Ushioda, and performed with virtually every Symphony in the New England area. His studies have also included the private instruction of Walter Olivares, former violin professor at the University of Montana.

Matt has performed and recorded live on many public radio stations such as, WGBH, WCRB, and WICN in Massachusetts. In addition he has enjoyed working as a violinist in musical productions such as "The Secret Garden" "West Side Story" "Revolution" and the 1997-98 national tour of "Carousel". Matt was the first prize winner of the Youth Opportunities United national competition in Pasadena, in 1990, 1991, and 1992.

As an educator he has coached Julliard pre college division violinists, worked with the Boston Music Education Collaborative, and served as a violin instructor at the Berkley Carrol School in Brooklyn, NY.

Matt resides in his hometown of Kalispell, Montana.
