Arco Baleno
Flute and string quartet
Arco Baleno Arco Baleno is a professional chamber music group set up in 1993 by students of various Flemish Conservatoria. The group usually consists of string quartet and flute. Arco Baleno seeks in its repertoire for a common message among the different pieces and combines in this way a standard repertoire with unknown works and often new compositions as well. The group regularly invites guest musicians for this purpose. Arco Baleno has recorded five CDs in the last five Years and various radio-recordings. The group has toured Germany, France, Slovenia, the United States of America and the Netherlands. In 1996 Arco Baleno won the CHAIN-competition in the Netherlands and received the debut prize for chamber music from Youth and Music Flanders.
